Double roller glue applicator
The structure of the double-roll glue applicator is shown in the figure, which is mainly composed of a frame, a glue roller, a glue tank and a transmission device. The frame 1 is made of cast or welded steel, one on the left and one on the left, and two tie rod bolts in the middle to form an integral frame to ensure its stability. The frame is used to support components such as the glue roller, glue tank and transmission device. The rubber roller is divided into the upper rubber roller 3 and the lower rubber roller 4, which are made of cast iron or steel pipe. The roller is covered with hard rubber and has grooves on the surface. The diameter of the rubber roller is 200-300 mm, usually not more than 350. mm. The grooves on the surface of the roller have straight thread, various square and horizontal patterns, and straight thread is the most widely used. The groove number of straight thread is generally 20 per inch (25.4 mm), the pitch is 1.27 mm, and the groove depth is 1 mm. The groove number and groove depth of the glue roller have a great influence on the amount of glue. The denser and shallower the groove, the smaller the amount of glue.
The glue tank 7 is installed under the lower glue roller and is welded by steel plates. The bottom gluing roller is partially immersed in the glue in the glue tank to take up the glue to apply glue to the veneer. There is a row of small rollers that can automatically rotate on the side wall of the slot of the glue groove to support the glued veneer to keep level so that it will not touch the groove wall and scrape the glue under the veneer. The transmission of the double-roll glue applicator is driven by a motor 9 and is connected to the lower glue roller through a reduction gear box 8. The transmission from the lower rubber roller to the upper rubber roller is transmitted by a pair of long-toothed gears (or sprockets) on the shaft ends of the upper and lower rubber rollers. The function of the long-toothed gear is to ensure the normal transmission when the upper rubber roller is moved to adjust the gap between the rubber rollers. Use the hand wheel to adjust the gap between the glue rollers, the screw is connected with the bearing of the upper glue roller, rotating the hand wheel will rotate the screw to make the upper glue roller move up and down to adapt to the veneer thickness and the amount of glue applied.
The double-roller glue applicator is simple in structure, easy to maintain and operate, but it also has the following disadvantages:
1) The amount of glue applied is controlled by adjusting the gap between the upper and lower glue rollers. If the size of the veneer is large and the gap is small, it is easy to crush the veneer.
2) It is easy to bring the foam in the glue to the veneer and affect the bonding quality.
3) After the glue is applied to one veneer, the second veneer can only be sent after the glue roller has rotated one week, and the production efficiency is low.
4) When the glued veneer is thick, it will cause the upper glue roller to jump up and down, which will easily damage the parts
